"local only" PLEASE HELP
I have 4 computers in my home. 2 being desktops and 2 being laptops. 3 work fine, the one that does not work is my laptop, the only one having Windows Vista. The other laptop has a wireless connection to Windows XP, while my laptop has connected to the Internet before, the connection was knocked off when a sibling pulled the chord out of the wall. Now, I only get "local only" or "limited connectivity" when I connect to my home network. I have to do school work and I am about to go crazy. I know there is an easy way to fix this since my laptop has worked before with this router...it is a linksys router. I have read a lot about manually configuring the IP adress or something, but have no idea how to actually do it? PLEASE HELP!!

I too am having a problem with Vista and my network. I have a server that is connected to my cablemodem and the othe NIC to my network. I am running Windows Server 2003 on it. I have 2 computers with Vista and 2 with XP and 1 with 2000 Pro. I have everything set up as WORKGROUP for the network and connected fine to each other and to the internet. I am setting up my server to host my website and had to change the domain name and now everything still connects to the network except my Vista machines. I used the networking tools in Vista, tried to join the domain, and everything I can think of to connect to the network. Where do I go from here? Can't see any networks nor can I connect to the internet! Is says "Local Only"
